Build Mental Toughness

How does one build “mental toughness”?

 

Here’s some information I wanted to share from Greg Everett’s book “Tough: Building True Mental, Physical and Emotional Toughness for Success and Fulfillment”

 

True Toughness is built through the continuing development of four elements:

 

-Character: Who are you? Do your values align with the identity you want to believe is in you?

 

-Capability: What are you able to do? The more we’re able to do, the less intimidating and overwhelming unfamiliar experiences are.

 

-Capacity: What are you able to withstand? This is what we see as resilience and fortitude to endure extraordinary struggle.

 

-Commitment: What are you willing to do? Are we consistent in our daily routines that reinforce our character, capability, and capacity?
