Time to step out of your comfort zone!

Posted on Apr 13, 19

A large amount of people are afraid to take that step of walking into a CrossFit gym for the first time. We see the pictures on ads and think “No Way” I don’t look like that, I do not belong in a CrossFit gym. We see the bars and weights and have clue what we would do with them. Let me tell you this IS completely normal.

Here are some tips that will help you once you DO make up you mind to take that first step.

#1 You will be nervous but the coaches and members will not judge you. They will not think you are weak and will not give up on you.

#2 Get out of your head! Don’t let your mind tell you that you can not do something. Yes there will some movements that will take you time to learn but there will be a lot you CAN do.

#3 NO ONE let me repeat NO ONE can do everything when they first start. Don’t get frustrated. CrossFit Coaches are very supportive and encouraging. They will show you that you are capable of much more than you think. Your mind is your biggest enemy when it comes to stepping out of your comfort zone.

#4 Your journey is completely different than everyone else’s. Don’t compare! Just because you might not lift a lot or move the fastest doesn’t mean you don’t belong. Your only competition is yourself. Nothing beats the satisfaction of seeing your hard work pay off than a new PR. Days when you feel down and defeated are the days you need to take control of your mind and get to the gym. Don’t ever let your mind talk your body out of what it is capable of doing.

#5 Bottom line is mind over matter every time!

I can promise you that when you do make that first step you will wish you would’ve much sooner. There’s a whole community waiting to help you become the best version of yourself both mentally and physically!
